I have a question about Bacterial V?

How Do I know if My BV is cured? I went to gynecologist and they gave me two pills. One I took twice daily for a week and one single one called Fluconazole. Is there any thing I can buy to know for sure my BV is cured? Also, What are some tips things/ I can do to prevent this infection from reappearing..? Does it have anything to do with the panties I wear, the way I whip after I pee, and etc? Sorry if this was a little TMI.
