Telescope Eyepieces 40mm?

Don't buy a 40mm Pl�ssl, either Orion or Tele Vue. Because both of these come only in a 1.25" barrel size, they have very narrow fields of view, around 43�, like looking down a soda straw. In fact, they have exactly the same actual field of view as a 32mm Pl�ssl or a 24mm wide-field eyepiece (TV Panoptic or Orion Stratus). These latter eyepieces will give you a wider, more contrasty view than a 40mm Pl�ssl. Alternatively, go for a 2" barrel eyepiece. The GSO 30mm Superview is excellent value for money.
