Can I legally use song lyrics on works of art that I plan to sell?

I am doing a series of serigraphs discussing rock music theology through use of symbolism in imagery, and I would like to attach specific excerpts (like one or two sentences) from songs that I feel illustrate further what I am trying to convey. With copyright laws, can I legally do this? I plan to place a price tag on said serigraphs.
