Geneology - Where or what is Piguata, Basilicata?

My Grandfather came from Pignola, Basilicata. But the Penger Record from Ellis Island lists his place of residence as "Piguata". I never heard of it. Is it another name for Pignola? It doesn't get explained when I google it either. Thank you so much!
