Prelude problems?

Now i dont know how long the prelude should be ive read on some websites that the prelude should be about 30 to 45 mins long to get people in the mood for the wedding, should i put all the songs on the wedding program, my two friends got married 2 weeks ago and they only used ONE song.. and im just so confused about the length and everything.
